TRS Red Matta Rice has a pink hue and a robust, earthy flavour. This rice is popular in Kerala and Sri Lanka where it’s used for Idlis, Appams or eaten on its own, and it goes well with a variety of dishes, including rich flavours like lamb, beef or game meats – it’s also used in the popular Keralan dish, Sadhya. Matta rice is more nutritious than white polished rice because parboiling before milling retains some nutrients.
